Many Frames. One Deadline. Zero Stress.
Built for designers, galleries, businesses and institutions.
What Is Volume & Trade Framing?
Volume framing is custom framing for projects that involve multiple pieces, repeat orders or an established framing specification.
The challenge isn't simply making one frame look right. It's making sure the next one looks the same.
Frame profiles, mat openings, glazing, dimensions and finishes may need to stay consistent across an entire office, exhibition, hotel, healthcare facility or collection.
Hector Framing & Gallery works with businesses and trade professionals in Gainesville and North Central Florida to establish the framing specification, produce the project and keep those details consistent from piece to piece.
There is no minimum project size.
Who Uses Commercial Framing?
Commercial framing isn't limited to large corporations.
We work with professionals and organizations that need framing to fit a larger project
Interior Designers
Bring us the artwork, room photos, finish samples or an existing specification.
We can help select framing that works with the space and then record the approved materials for the rest of the project.
Galleries & Artists
Frame a group of works to the same specification for an exhibition, edition or collection.
Once the frame, matting, glazing and dimensions are established, they can be repeated across related pieces where appropriate.
Offices & Businesses
Frame artwork, photography, certificates, recognition pieces or branded displays for offices, conference rooms, reception areas and other business spaces.
Healthcare & Professional Offices
Create a consistent presentation for artwork displayed throughout waiting rooms, hallways, treatment spaces and offices.
We'll help determine the appropriate framing materials for the artwork and the environment.
Hospitality & Restaurants
Framing for hotels, restaurants and other guest-facing spaces often involves multiple pieces that need to work together visually.
We can develop a framing approach around the artwork, interior and quantity required.
Schools, Universities & Organizations
Diplomas, awards, photographs, historical documents, recognition displays and artwork can be framed individually or as part of a larger coordinated project.
How a Volume Framing Project Works
-
Start with what you already know.
Quantity, artwork sizes, photographs, plans, room images, existing specifications and your target completion date are all useful.
You don't need to have every detail figured out before contacting us.
-
If you already have a specification, we'll review it with you.
If you don't, we'll work through the frame, matting, glazing and other materials based on the artwork, space and project requirements.
For larger projects, approving the framing direction before production helps keep the finished work consistent.
-
Commercial framing is quoted based on the actual project.
Quantity matters, but so do artwork size, moulding, glazing, matting, mounting and the complexity of the work.
Tell us about any firm installation or opening dates at the beginning of the project so they can be considered when planning the work.
-
Once the project is approved, we build to the established specifications.
If the project includes several different groups of artwork, each group can have its own framing specification.
-
If you need help getting the finished artwork onto the wall, ask about [Art Installation] when discussing the project.
Need Us to See the Space?
Sometimes choosing the right frame is easier when we can see where the artwork is going.
Hector offers on-site consultations for homes and businesses in the Gainesville area.
This can be particularly useful for interior design projects, offices, multi-piece installations and projects where several frames need to work together in the same room.
High Volume & Trade Framing FAQ
-
Volume framing is custom framing produced for multiple pieces rather than a single frame.
The project usually begins by establishing a framing specification, including the frame moulding, matting, glazing, dimensions and other construction details. That specification can then be repeated across the pieces that need to match.
Volume framing is commonly used for galleries, exhibitions, offices, hotels, healthcare facilities, restaurants, universities and interior design projects.
-
Trade framing is custom framing provided to professionals who use framing as part of their own work.
Interior designers, galleries, artists, art consultants and other businesses may use a trade framer to design, specify and produce frames for their clients or projects.
Trade projects can range from a few pieces for one room to recurring or larger-volume framing work.
-
The actual frame may be constructed using many of the same materials and techniques.
The difference is usually the project.
Commercial framing often involves multiple pieces, repeatable specifications, project deadlines, budgets and coordination with designers, businesses or other professionals.
A residential customer may be deciding how to frame one painting. A commercial project may require the same presentation to work across dozens of pieces.
-
Send as much of the following as you have:
Number of pieces
Artwork dimensions
Photographs of the artwork
Desired frame style or existing specification
Matting requirements
Glazing requirements
Project location
Installation needs
Target completion date
If some of those decisions haven't been made yet, that's fine. Send what you have and we can start there.

No.
Hector Framing & Gallery does not have a minimum project size. We can discuss a smaller designer project, a group of matching frames or a larger volume order.
The best way to determine pricing is to send us the quantity, sizes and framing requirements.
-
Commercial framing is quoted according to the scope of the project.
Quantity is one factor, along with frame selection, size, matting, glazing, mounting and other project requirements.
Send us the project details and we'll prepare pricing based on the actual work involved.
-
Yes.
For projects requiring matching or coordinated frames, the frame moulding, matting, glazing, dimensions and other relevant details can be established as a project specification.
That specification provides the reference for producing the rest of the group consistently.
Natural materials such as wood can have some variation in grain and appearance.
-
Yes.
If you already know the moulding, dimensions, matting, glazing or other framing requirements, bring or send us the specification.
If the framing hasn't been specified yet, we can also work with the artwork, room photographs, plans, finishes or other design information to help establish it.
-
The framing direction should be established before a larger production run begins.
Depending on the project, this may involve reviewing moulding, matting and glazing options or an initial framing configuration before the remaining pieces are produced.
Discuss the approval process with us when requesting your quote.
-
There is no standard per-frame price that applies to every commercial framing project.
Pricing depends on quantity, frame dimensions, moulding, matting, glazing, mounting, artwork requirements and the complexity of the project.
Using the same specification across multiple pieces can simplify production, but the actual cost still depends on the materials and scope.
Send us the project information for a quote.
-
Lead time depends heavily on the number and size of pieces, the selected materials and the complexity of the project.
Hector's standard custom framing orders can take up to about one week, but larger commercial projects need to be scheduled based on their specific scope.
If you are working toward an exhibition opening, installation, move-in or other fixed date, provide that date when requesting the quote.
Expedited service may be available depending on the project.
-
Yes.
Consistency doesn't necessarily mean every frame has to be the same size.
Different artwork dimensions can still share the same moulding, mat color, glazing or other design details so the collection reads as a coordinated group.
-
Yes.
Original artwork, photographs, works on paper and other sensitive pieces can use conservation framing materials within a commercial project.
The appropriate materials depend on what is being framed and the display environment.

Hector Framing can schedule an on-site consultation at your business to better understand the space where the finished artwork will be displayed.
This can be helpful when selecting frames, planning groups of artwork or coordinating a larger installation.
